Israeli Soldiers Brutalizing Palestinian Children

"Two....soldiers stopped us and handcuffed us, (took) us to two separate jeeps, (took) me to the settlement and put me in a corner, (put) a dog next to me," refused to let him use the bathroom, threatened to hold him forever, wouldn't let him call his mother, blindfolded him, and held him until his father managed to get him late at night.

He was terrified, held for 10 hours, traumatized by the incident, and unable to sleep, "worried sick about his brother in jail and extremely afraid that the soldiers would come back" and do it again, which they did, and do repeatedly to hundreds of Palestinian youths, their siblings, parents and friends, guilty of being Palestinian on land Israel wants to make historic Palestine an ethnically pure Jewish state.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, according to the IDF, ethnic cleansing of Palestinians is absolutely acceptable, be it by slaughtering an innocent pregnant woman, denying care to medically fragile Palestinians, or torturing prisoners some time to death.

One has to shake one's head at the reality that many of those in the Israeli military and Israeli government are the grand-children of Holocaust survivors.

One might imagine somehow that the understanding that all ethnic cleansing is morally appalling would have wound up being a primary value for a society whose ancestors had survived it; unfortunately, that is not the case with Israel.

Israeli army to seal off West Bank as tensions rise

The action was taken "for security reasons" including a risk of attacks, the spokesman said. The area was sealed off at midnight on Thursday.

Israeli police have also said they would bar Muslim men under the age of 50 from prayers on Friday at Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque compound, one of Islam's holiest sites, fearing unrest.

The moves come after violent clashes at the site, which is also holy to Jews, during last week's Muslim prayers, and fresh tensions over Israeli plans to build 1,600 homes for Jewish settlers in mostly Arab east Jerusalem.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Rather than eliminating unrest, these actions by the IDF are almost guaranteed to provoke violence, which is precisely why the IDF is doing this.

FEMA sells off Hurricane Katrina trailers tainted with formaldehyde

Consumer advocates and environmentalists are outraged that the government resold products it deemed unsafe to live in, saying warning stickers attached to the units will not keep people from misusing them.

Besides formaldehyde, units may be plagued by mold, mildew and propane gas leaks, FEMA acknowledged.

"Proceed with caution, extreme caution, if you are tempted to respond to what appears to be an attractive offer for a travel trailer or manufactured home," Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel wrote in a consumer alert.

House Democrats appear set to pass Senate bill without voting on it

Republicans now expect Democrats to pass health care through the House with a trick only Capitol Hill could dream up: approving the Senate bill without voting on it.

Democrats will vote on a separate bill that includes language stating that the original Senate bill is “deemed passed.”

So by voting for the first bill — a reconciliation measure to fix certain things in the Senate bill — that will automatically pass the second bill — the original Senate bill — without a separate roll call taking place.

It’s called the “Slaughter Solution” (prepare for a weekend of endless TV gabbing about it).

With the Economic Crisis, the Number of Billionaires has Soared

The current global financial and economic crisis once again confirms the fact that during economic upheavals the rich get richer and the poor become even more destitute.

On Thursday, Forbes Magazine carried an updated list of the world's wealthiest people.

As of late 2009, the number of billionaires soared from 793 to 1,011 and their total fortunes from $2.4 trillion to $3.6 trillion. The number of Russian billionaires almost doubled, from 32 to 62.

Mexican military copter over U.S. neighborhood

BROWNSVILLE — The Zapata County sheriff Thursday was questioning why a Mexican military helicopter was hovering over homes on the Texas side of the Rio Grande.

It was one of the more jarring incidents of the fourth week of border tensions sparked by drug killings, and rumors of such killings, in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas.

Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez said he'd reviewed photos of the chopper flown by armed personnel Tuesday over a residential area known as Falcon Heights-Falcon Village near the binational Falcon Lake, just south of the Starr-Zapata county line. He said the helicopter appeared to have the insignia of the Mexican navy.

Climate change 'makes birds shrink' in North America

A study of almost half a million birds, belonging to over 100 species, shows that many are gradually becoming lighter and growing shorter wings.

This shrinkage has occurred within just half a century, with the birds thought to be evolving into a smaller size in response to warmer temperatures.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And of course the encroachment of humans into their natural habitat and decline in available food supplies would have nothing to do with that, correct?

Think back to a time when the Earth really was a lot warmer, with much more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. It was called the Cretaceous Period, where the world world was a tropical rain forest, temperatures were much higher, food was abundant, and as a result, animals grew LARGER!

On the islands off of the coast of Los Angeles, paleontologists have discovered the bones of a species of woolly mammoth, identical to their mainland counterparts except in size. These so-called pygmy mammoths lived at the same time as their larger cousins, with the same global temperatures and same atmospheric composition. But, being isolated from the shore as the islands slowly drifted further away from shore by tectonic creep, they had limited food and limited space, and so natural selection favored the smaller among them, and over time, evolution shrank that species, even as their on-shore cousins remained the same size.

An American investigative journalist has uncovered evidence suggesting the CIA peppered local food with the hallucinogenic drug LSD
In 1951, a quiet, picturesque village in southern France was suddenly and mysteriously struck down with mass insanity and hallucinations. At least five people died, dozens were interned in asylums and hundreds afflicted.

U.S. gave Israel green light for East Jerusalem construction

Based on Biden's reaction, it seems that he (and, presumably, his boss) has decided that it is better to leave with a few sour grapes than to quarrel with the vineyard guard. In his speech at Tel Aviv University, he said he appreciated Netanyahu's pledge that there would be no recurrence. But what exactly does that mean? That next time he comes, the Planning and Building Committee will be asked to defer discussion of similar plans until the honored guest has left? With the media storm dying down, Netanyahu can breathe a sigh of relief.

In a sense, the uproar actually helped him: To wipe the spit off his face, Biden had to say it was only rain. Therefore, he lauded Netanyahu's assertion that actual construction in Ramat Shlomo would begin only in another several years.

85% Top Income Tax Rate Needed to Close Deficit

Webmaster's Commentary:

Raising taxes to 8% won't fix the problem because the government will always find another war to start, Israel will need more money, and the bankers will always raise interest rates to absorb any additional revenues.

There was a reason the Founding Fathers banned an income tax in the Constitution.

ZEITGEIST: PART 1 RELIGION

ZEITGEIST: PART1 RELIGION

The Greatest Story Ever Told from Zeitgeist the Movie explains the origin of popular modern religions.

The fundamental Sky-Sun Gods of ancient Egypt were Osiris, Horus and Ra. Because of a very large span of time these and other gods flourished in Egypt, there is a considerable degree of overlap & permutation regarding their attributes and stories. Zeitgeist simply encapsulates the general characteristics of these ancient Egyptian gods under the title of Horus. The point of Zeitgeist is to show some of the similarities between Jewish-Greco-Roman Christianity and other ancient religions. Zeitgeist isn’t meant to be an all-inclusive detailed study of ancient religious mythology.

Runaway Prius Owner Accused of Hoax

Why Not Universal Car Insurance?

As much as I would enjoy this "free" service (at the expense of other taxpayers) the fact is that social-insurance and welfare programs do not benefit the economy — or the recipient — over the long run. The welfare state has eroded the concept of personal responsibility, and for affected industries it has replaced the free market with a central economic system that promises higher costs and lower quality. The welfare state accomplishes the exact opposite of what it intends to do. It is a bane to the general wellbeing of society.

He knew that I planned to go to al-Arish, and if I could make it past the checkpoints, to Egyptian Rafah, and asked if I could arrange to have the items smuggled to Gaza. TVNL Reminder: Pope 'led cover-up of child abuse by priests'

In 2001, while he was a cardinal, he issued a secret Vatican edict to Catholic bishops all over the world, instructing them to put the Church's interests ahead of child safety.

Russia's envoy to NATO has sharply criticized the alliance's shift away from fighting drug trafficking in Afghanistan, saying the resulting surge in heroin smuggling is endangering Russia's national security.

In an interview late Thursday, Dmitry Rogozin also highlighted the lack of cohesion within NATO, saying Moscow is worried about declining public support in Europe for the war.

"(Russia) is losing 30,000 lives a year to the Afghan drug trade, and a million people are addicts," Rogozin said. "This is an undeclared war against our country."

Never mind that the ocean is full of life that produces CO2 in abundance, and never mind that the ocean floor is covered with we-still-don't-know-how-many volcanoes pouring out more heat and CO2 per day than all of Earth's humans do in an entire year; if it's bad blame it on the taxpayers and suck more money out of them.

Israel Moves To Change Law After Biden 'Mishap'

Israel is moving to amend the country's planning procedures on sensitive political decisions following an embarrassing diplomatic flap during a visit this week by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, a Cabinet minister said Friday.

Both Biden and the Palestinians sharply condemned the Israeli settlement decision.

Netanyahu apologized for the timing, though not the substance, of the announcement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: Israel will just go on doing what it has been doing, taking US money and there will utterly no consequences for anything they do from the US (Including potentially starting a war against Iran).

The letter notes, “Our core remains a viable, independent and sovereign Palestinian State with contiguous territory that ends the occupation that began in 1967.” This is not the first time a US administration has used its creativity in creating new terminology to deal with the conflict instead of relying on the time-tested body of international law that provides the keys to real progress. In the past, in place of “independent state” the US has attached such adjectives to the word “state” as “contiguous,” “viable,” “economically viable,” “territorial continuity,” and the like.

Lehman Fraudulently Cooked Its Books, Accounting Giant Ernst & Young Helped, Geithner and Bernanke Winked and Slapped Them on the Back

Paul Krugman and others pointed out that Geithner has been trying to artificially prop up asset prices, but that such a strategy cannot succeed.

FBI enters case of a school's alleged spying using laptop Web cams

The lawsuit, filed on behalf of Blake Robbins, claimed that he was reprimanded by an assistant principal for "improper behavior in his home" that was captured by the laptop camera.

Robbins told reporters, the Inquirer says, that the school official mistook Mike & Ike candies he was holding for illegal pills, and accused him of selling drugs.

The Washington Post reports that lawyers for Robbins plan to ask a federal court to stop the school from erasing any images captured by the Web cams.

Obviously, since Blake Robbins was still in possession of the laptop, it could not have been reported missing or stolen. Hence the school's claim that the camera was only activated in those circumstances is a total fabrication.

FLASHBACK - Ted K., the CIA & LSD

It turns out that Theodore Kaczynski, a.k.a. the Unabomber, was a volunteer in mind-control experiments sponsored by the CIA at Harvard in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Michael Mello, author of the recently published book, "The United States of America vs. Theodore John Kaczynski," notes that at some point in his Harvard years--1958 to 1962--Kaczynski agreed to be the subject of "a psychological experiment." Mello identifies the chief researcher for these only as a lieutenant colonel in World War II, working for the CIA's predecessor organization, the Office of Strategic Services. In fact, the man experimenting on the young Kaczynski was Dr. Henry Murray, who died in 1988.

FLASHBACK - Government Experiments on U.S. Soldiers: Shocking Claims Come to Light in New Court Case

Their stories are a staple of conspiracy culture: broken men, suffering hallucinations and near-total amnesia, who say they are victims of secret government mind-control experiments. Think Liev Schreiber in The Manchurian Candidate or Mel Gibson in Conspiracy Theory. Journalists are a favorite target for the paranoid delusions of this population. So is Gordon Erspamer—and the San Francisco lawyer's latest case isn't helping him to fend off the tinfoil-hat crowd. He has filed suit against the CIA and the US Army on behalf of the Vietnam Veterans of America and six former American soldiers who claim they are the real thing: survivors of classified government tests conducted at the Army's Edgewood Arsenal in Maryland between 1950 and 1975. "I get a lot of calls," he says.

China hits back at Obama over currency policy

China on Friday hit back at an attack from US President Barack Obama over currency policy, saying the yuan's value was not a political one and was not the key to global trade imbalances.

Mr Obama on Thursday called on China to adopt a "market-oriented" exchange rate policy, increasing the pressure on Beijing to allow the yuan - effectively pegged to the dollar since mid-2008 - to appreciate.

FLASHBACK - VA testing drugs on war veterans

The government is testing drugs with severe side effects like psychosis and suicidal behavior on hundreds of military veterans, using small cash payments to attract patients into medical experiments that often target distressed soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, a Washington Times/ABC News investigation has found.

Ground Zero workers win $657m settlement for health problems

Thousands of firefighters, police, contractors and others who worked at "Ground Zero" in the ruins of the World Trade Center sued the city and its contractors for claims of injuries associated with their rescue and clean-up work.

The settlement will be drawn from a federally financed insurance fund - the WTC Captive Insurance Company - created in 2004 with a $1 billion grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Huffing Biggest Drug Threat for Tweens

For parents, the frontlines of the war on drugs may involve common household items such as nail polish, glue, bleach, or air freshener -- this according to the results of a new national health study.

In fact, according to information compiled by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) from 2006 through 2008, more 12-year-old children are "huffing" or inhaling dangerous chemicals than using marijuana and cocaine combined.

Holocaust Games in Britain

A group of primary schoolchildren were left traumatised after their teacher told them they were to be taken away from their families during a bizarre Holocaust classroom 'game'.

Pupils became hysterical after a number of them were separated and told they were being sent away or might end up in an orphanage.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Do we need to make slaves of our children to teach them slavery is wrong? No, we do not. Not only do we all know slavery is wrong, but slavery no longer exists in the US (not counting the 1040 form).

Likewise, the Nazis are all gone. Hitler is gone. And Nazi style war crimes are gone (not counting Gaza).

This "game" was little more than a blatant attempt to brainwash children, to emotionally scar them in a manner which benefits the present-day government of Israel.

FIRE THAT TEACHER NOW!

FLASHBACK - GULF WAR TOXINS IN SWINE FLU VACCINE

THE new swine flu vaccine contains a deadly brain toxin linked to autism, Alzheimer’s and multiple sclerosis.

Mercury, a vaccine preservative, was withdrawn from childhood jabs five years ago after evidence linked it to brain damage.

However, the Sunday Express has discovered the pandemic vaccine, to be rolled out across the country within weeks, contains the heavy metal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With the emerging scandal over Poul Thorson, the key scientist in the studies claiming to prove that mercury in vaccines was unconnected to autism, having absconded with millions on research grant money, it is clear that official government assurances of the safety of the "When Pigs Fly" flu vaccines were "over optimistic."

Report links vaccines to Gulf war syndrome

A senior army doctor has provided the first official support for claims that the cocktail of vaccines given to soldiers before the 1991 war in Iraq probably caused illnesses that became known as Gulf war syndrome, it was reported today.

For 13 years, the MoD has denied that vaccines could be blamed for the illnesses. Independent research has also failed to find conclusive proof of a common link between the vaccines and a Gulf war-related syndrome.

However, Lieutenant Colonel Graham Howe, clinical director of psychiatry with the British forces health service in Germany, has made a link between the vaccines and illnesses associated with claims of Gulf war syndrome.

Ecstasy trials for combat stress

American soldiers traumatised by fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan are to be offered the drug ecstasy to help free them of flashbacks and recurring nightmares.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This might be a good idea. Prior to being declared illegal because of recreational abuses, MDMA was showing tremendous potential in the therapy context, allowing people to look at themselves objectively. Therapy that might take years could be accomplished in weeks. But our government, trying to maintain the illusion of objection to drugs even as they profit from them, banned MDMA for any and all uses, a knee-jerk political move that threw out the good with the bad.

This is definitely worth more research. These kids in Iraq know they are the invaders and that is a tough thing to live with. Anything that can help them get past that guilt non-destructively has to be looked at closely if for no other reason than it might lower the suicide rate.

Sneaky Anti-terror Cameras Used In War On The Motorist

TECHNOLOGY to fight terrorists is being used by “town hall Stasi” to hike parking fines and rake in cash from motorists, the Tories said yesterday.

Councils routinely use Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology to clamp down on parking offences, they claim.

The device scans 3,000 vehicles an hour and cross-checks in seconds with police, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency and insurance databases.

This allows parking tickets to be issued by computer.

Is China actually bankrupt?

2009. Yes, China announced that its proposed annual budget for 2010 would produce a record deficit, but the deficit is just $154 billion, or 2.8% of China's gross domestic product. In contrast, the Congressional Budget Office projects the U.S. budget deficit for fiscal 2010 at $1.3 trillion. That's equal to 9.2% of GDP.

St Hilary's Primary kids traumatised by teachers’ Holocaust game

A MOTHER is calling for three teachers to be suspended after her daughter and her classmates were subjected to a “cruel and unethical” Holocaust role play game.

Pupils at St Hilary’s Primary were “hysterical” after deputy head teacher Elizabeth McGlynn segregated nine youngsters in Gerry Blair’s P7 class and told them they were being taken away from their families.

It was the start of an ordeal designed to give the 11-year-old children an insight into the horrors of the Holocaust as part of a project they are doing about the Second World War.

Elvis Presley’s Ultra-Secure, 2008 Passport?

Elvis died in 1977.

Politicians: “Don’t Like the Message? Shoot the Messenger!”

You have an entity that took on too much debt. It cooked its books. It failed to get its fiscal house in order. Its “executives” repeatedly refused to take the necessary steps to rein in risk.

But when the LOGICAL consequences occurred — investors began dumping its debt and equities … and driving up the cost of insuring against default risk — what happened? Did officials listen to the message of the markets, apologize, find religion, and try to right the ship?

Heck no! They blamed the messenger.

U.S. funded anthrax vaccine trials on IDF soldiers

The United States provided some $200 million to fund a top secret laboratory and assembly line in Israel which developed and produced a vaccine for anthrax, according to the Internet news site Intelligence Online.

The exact location of the lab, which is reported to be run by the Nes Tziona-based Israel Institute for Biological Research, was not mentioned in the report.

The Intelligence Online story focused on the legal battle being waged by Israel Defense Forces soldiers who took part in an army-run test of the anthrax vaccine 13 years ago.

Another WWF assisted IPCC claim debunked: Amazon more drought resistant than claimed

A new NASA-funded study has concluded that Amazon rain forests were remarkably unaffected in the face of once-in-a-century drought in 2005, neither dying nor thriving, contrary to a previously published report and claims by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

“We found no big differences in the greenness level of these forests between drought and non-drought years, which suggests that these forests may be more tolerant of droughts than we previously thought,” said Arindam Samanta, the study’s lead author from Boston University.

Global Warming Might Spur Earthquakes and Volcanoes

Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis and landslides are some of the additional catastrophes that climate change and its rising sea levels and melting glaciers could bring, a geologist says.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ever stop to think that those volcanoes contribute far more warming and CO2 to the atmosphere than humans?

Climategate: the IPCC's whitewash 'review' is the AGW camp's biggest mistake yet

It looks as if the tottering IPCC has just made its biggest mistake yet. Twenty-four hours after the announcement of an “independent” inquiry into certain aspects of its activities it is possible to make a considered assessment of its significance. By any reasoned analysis, it is not only a whitewash but one in which the paint is spread so thinly as to be transparent.

First, who appointed this review body? Those two iconic standard bearers of climate science objectivity, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and IPCC head (still!) Rajendra Pachauri. There is nothing like being judge in your own cause – it secures a less damaging verdict.
